Foundation Heroes: Richard and Marilyn Hoffmann

Posted inFoundation HeroesNews

Serving others is what faith calls us to do. Dr. Richard and Marilyn Hoffmann live out that calling by volunteering their time and talents to serve migrant and underserved populations of Hillsborough County through a local Catholic charity, which is a ministry within the Diocese of St. Petersburg. As a retired physician from a local university in Tampa, Richard volunteers as medical director at his local charity. Marilyn also contributes her nursing skills to the ministry and serves as an advisor.

“We’ve heard the call to serve others. As good stewards, we know that it means your time, talent and your treasure. That’s why we set up a charitable gift annuity to benefit the ministry, but also to ensure that we have a lifelong revenue stream. Plus, the Catholic Foundation made it so easy for us to do,” says Dr. Hoffmann.

While their generosity will benefit the underserved population of Hillsborough County through a charitable gift annuity, Marilyn also chose to support her alma mater, a Catholic college in Kentucky. Through the Catholic Foundation, they discovered that they could help not only their church locally, but throughout the United States.
